Claude Cowork Use Cases: 25 Workflows Teams Run Every Week
It's Monday. Someone has to pull last week's numbers out of three exports, skim 40 support tickets for patterns, check what competitors changed on their pricing pages and write it all up before the 10 a.m. meeting. Nobody went into marketing or ops to do that, but it lands on someone every week.

A few terms used throughout. Scheduled tasks run on their own at a frequency you set: hourly, daily, weekdays, weekly or manually (Anthropic: scheduled tasks). Connectors link Cowork to apps like Slack, Google Drive or your CRM. Skills are saved instructions Claude loads when a task calls for them (Anthropic: what are skills). Plugins bundle skills, connectors, slash commands and sub-agents for a role, and Anthropic has open-sourced plugins for teams including sales, finance, marketing, legal, customer support and product management (Anthropic: Cowork plugins).
Claude Cowork use cases for marketing teams
1. Weekly content brief from keyword exports
Who and when: content lead, scheduled every Monday.
What Cowork does: reads the latest keyword and Search Console exports in your folder, groups queries by intent, and drafts briefs for the top opportunities.
Read the newest CSVs in /seo-exports. Group queries by search intent, pick the 5 with the highest volume we don't rank top 10 for, and write one brief per query in /briefs with: target keyword, intent, suggested H2s, questions to answer and 3 internal links from /site-pages.csv.
What lands in the folder: five brief documents, one per keyword.
Where judgment comes in: which topics fit your positioning and which to skip. Run a Callstand strategize call on the shortlist before briefs get written.
2. Blog draft QA
Who and when: editor, on demand when a draft lands.
What Cowork does: checks a draft against your style guide, verifies every link resolves, and flags unsupported claims.
Check /drafts/[file] against /style-guide.md. List every rule broken with the line, test each link, and flag any statistic without a source. Save a marked-up copy as [file]-qa.docx.
What lands in the folder: a QA copy with comments.
Where judgment comes in: whether the argument is any good, not just whether it follows rules. A Callstand critique call gives you an expert's read before the draft goes back to the writer.
3. Social posts from a published article
Who and when: social manager, on demand after publishing.
What Cowork does: opens the live URL, pulls the key points and writes channel-specific posts.
Read [URL]. Write 3 LinkedIn posts and 5 short X posts, each built on a different point from the article. Follow /voice.md. Save to /social/[slug].md.
What lands in the folder: one file of ready-to-edit posts.
Where judgment comes in: your brand voice beyond a style sheet. Pair a Callstand draft call with the expert's voice examples connected through MCP.
4. Competitor page change digest
Who and when: product marketer, scheduled weekly.
What Cowork does: visits a list of competitor pricing and feature pages, compares them with last week's saved copy, and summarizes what changed.
For each URL in /competitors/urls.txt, save today's page text to /competitors/snapshots/[date]/. Compare with the previous snapshot and write /competitors/digest-[date].md listing every change in pricing, plans, features or positioning.
What lands in the folder: dated snapshots and a one-page digest.
Where judgment comes in: which changes matter for your deals. A Callstand critique on the digest flags the ones worth a battlecard update. This is the workflow we build step by step in the tutorial below.
5. Campaign recap from analytics exports
Who and when: performance marketer, scheduled every Monday.
What Cowork does: combines ad platform and analytics exports into one recap with spend, conversions and notes on what moved.
Combine the CSVs in /campaign-exports/[last-week]. Build a table of spend, clicks, conversions and CPA by campaign, compare with the prior week, and write a 200-word summary of the three biggest changes. Save as recap-[date].xlsx and recap-[date].md.
What lands in the folder: a spreadsheet and a short summary.
Where judgment comes in: what to do next with the budget. A Callstand strategize call turns the recap into recommended moves.
6. Newsletter assembly
Who and when: marketing manager, scheduled weekly.
What Cowork does: collects the week's published posts, product updates and links your team dropped into a Slack channel, then drafts the newsletter in your template.
Collect links posted in #newsletter-ideas this week and new posts from /published.csv. Draft this week's newsletter in /templates/newsletter.md format with a 2-line intro and one paragraph per item. Save to /newsletter/[date].md.
What lands in the folder: a draft ready for an editor.
Where judgment comes in: which item leads. Use a Callstand critique on the order and subject line before it goes out.
Claude Cowork use cases for sales and RevOps
7. Pre-call account research packet
Who and when: account executive, on demand before discovery calls.
What Cowork does: pulls the CRM record, reads the prospect's site and recent news, and builds a one-page brief. Anthropic's Sales plugin is built for this kind of work.
For [company], pull the CRM record and notes, read their homepage, pricing and careers pages, and search for news from the last 90 days. Write a one-page brief in /accounts/[company].md: what they sell, likely priorities, open roles that signal them, and 5 discovery questions.
What lands in the folder: an account brief.
Where judgment comes in: which questions expose real pain. A Callstand strategize call sharpens the discovery plan.
8. Segment-specific cold email drafts
Who and when: SDR team, on demand per campaign.
What Cowork does: drafts short email variants for each segment in a list, using your offer doc and proof points.
Read /campaigns/[name]/segments.csv and /offer.md. For each segment, write 3 cold email variants under 90 words with a different opening line each. Use only proof points from /proof.md. Save to /campaigns/[name]/drafts.md.
What lands in the folder: email variants per segment.
Where judgment comes in: your ICP disqualifiers and claims you can't make. A Callstand critique call catches both before anything is loaded into a sequence.
9. CRM hygiene sweep
Who and when: RevOps, scheduled weekly.
What Cowork does: finds deals with missing fields, stale close dates or no next step, and lists them by owner.
Find open deals with a close date in the past, no next step, or no activity in 21 days. Group by owner and save /revops/hygiene-[date].csv with deal, issue and suggested fix. Don't edit any records.
What lands in the folder: a cleanup list per rep.
Where judgment comes in: which stale deals are actually dead. A Callstand critique applies your pipeline rules to the list.
10. Weekly pipeline summary
Who and when: sales leader, scheduled Friday afternoon.
What Cowork does: pulls pipeline by stage, compares it with last week and drafts a summary for leadership.
Pull open pipeline by stage and owner, compare with /revops/pipeline-[last-week].csv, and write a 250-word summary: new deals, moved deals, slipped deals and coverage against this quarter's target in /targets.md.
What lands in the folder: a snapshot CSV and a written summary.
Where judgment comes in: forecast calls. Run a Callstand strategize on the summary to pressure-test commit numbers.
11. Call notes to follow-up email
Who and when: any rep, on demand after a call.
What Cowork does: reads the call notes or transcript and drafts a follow-up with agreed next steps.
Read /calls/[file]. Draft a follow-up email under 150 words that recaps their 3 main priorities in their words, confirms next steps with dates, and attaches nothing. Save as a draft in /calls/followups/.
What lands in the folder: a follow-up draft.
Where judgment comes in: tone with a specific buyer. A Callstand draft call with your best rep's examples gets closer than a generic template.
Claude Cowork use cases for customer success and support
12. Ticket theme digest
Who and when: support lead, scheduled weekly.
What Cowork does: reads the week's tickets and groups them into themes with counts and examples. Anthropic's Customer support plugin targets this kind of work.
Read tickets closed this week. Group them into themes, count each, quote 2 representative tickets per theme, and flag anything new compared with /support/digest-[last-week].md. Save /support/digest-[date].md.
What lands in the folder: a weekly theme digest.
Where judgment comes in: escalation thresholds. A Callstand critique call checks which themes should go to product now.
13. Help center updates from resolved tickets
Who and when: support ops, scheduled weekly.
What Cowork does: finds questions that came up repeatedly and drafts new or updated help articles.
From this week's resolved tickets, find questions asked 3+ times that aren't answered in /help-center-export. Draft one article per question in /help-drafts/ using our article template.
What lands in the folder: draft help articles.
Where judgment comes in: what you're willing to promise customers. A Callstand critique reviews each draft against your support policies.
14. QBR deck prep
Who and when: customer success manager, on demand before a quarterly review.
What Cowork does: pulls usage data, tickets and CRM notes for the account and drafts a deck outline.
For [account], combine /usage/[account].csv, open and closed tickets this quarter, and CRM notes. Draft a 10-slide QBR outline in /qbr/[account].md: outcomes, usage trends, open issues, and 3 recommendations.
What lands in the folder: a QBR outline.
Where judgment comes in: which recommendation leads to expansion. Run a Callstand strategize call on the outline.
15. Churn-risk notes
Who and when: CS team, scheduled weekly.
What Cowork does: flags accounts with falling usage, negative tickets or upcoming renewals and writes a note for each.
Flag accounts with usage down 30%+ over 4 weeks, 2+ negative tickets, or renewal within 60 days. For each, write a 3-line note with the evidence and a suggested next action. Save /cs/risk-[date].md.
What lands in the folder: a risk list with notes.
Where judgment comes in: which save plays fit which customers. A Callstand draft call writes outreach in your CS lead's style.
Claude Cowork use cases for operations and finance
16. Receipt and invoice reconciliation
Who and when: finance, scheduled monthly. Anthropic's own Academy uses finance reconciliation as an example Cowork workflow (Claude Academy).
What Cowork does: matches receipts and invoices in a folder against a card or bank export and lists what doesn't match.
Match every file in /receipts/[month] to a line in /bank/[month].csv by amount and date. Rename matched files as [date]-[vendor]-[amount]. List unmatched receipts and unmatched transactions in /finance/recon-[month].xlsx.
What lands in the folder: renamed receipts and a reconciliation sheet.
Where judgment comes in: how to code edge cases. A Callstand critique call applies your controller's rules to the exceptions.
17. Vendor contract summaries
Who and when: operations, on demand.
What Cowork does: reads contracts and extracts term, renewal, notice period, price and unusual clauses.
For each PDF in /contracts, extract: vendor, start date, term, auto-renewal, notice period, price and any clause on liability, data or exclusivity. Save a table to /contracts/summary.xlsx and flag renewals in the next 90 days.
What lands in the folder: a contract tracker.
Where judgment comes in: which clauses are risky for your business. A Callstand critique from a legal or procurement expert reviews the flags. This isn't legal advice.
18. Weekly ops report from spreadsheets
Who and when: ops manager, scheduled Friday.
What Cowork does: combines several team spreadsheets into one report.
Combine the "This week" tabs from every file in /ops-inputs. Build one table of KPIs vs target, mark anything more than 10% off target, and write a 150-word summary. Save /ops/report-[date].xlsx.
What lands in the folder: a consolidated report.
Where judgment comes in: which misses are noise. A Callstand strategize call on the summary suggests where to act.
19. SOP drafts from rough notes
Who and when: anyone documenting a process, on demand.
What Cowork does: turns notes, screenshots and recordings into a formatted standard operating procedure.
Turn /sop-notes/[process] into an SOP in our template: purpose, owner, tools, numbered steps, common errors and a checklist. Save /sops/[process].docx. List anything unclear as questions at the top.
What lands in the folder: a draft SOP.
Where judgment comes in: whether the process is the right one. A Callstand critique from an ops expert spots the steps worth cutting.
20. Shared drive cleanup
Who and when: operations, scheduled monthly.
What Cowork does: finds duplicates, inconsistent names and stale files, and proposes a new structure before moving anything.
Scan /shared. List duplicate files, files untouched in 12 months, and names that don't match /naming.md. Propose a folder structure in /cleanup/plan.md. Don't move or delete anything until I approve the plan.
What lands in the folder: a cleanup plan for approval.
Where judgment comes in: what's safe to archive. Claude asks explicit permission before permanently deleting files, but the call on what's obsolete is yours (Anthropic: get started with Cowork). A Callstand strategize call can set the archive rules once.
Claude Cowork use cases for team leads
21. Monday priorities brief
Who and when: any manager, scheduled weekdays or Monday mornings.
What Cowork does: reads your calendar, flagged Slack threads and open tasks and writes a short brief. Anthropic lists daily briefings among the main uses of scheduled tasks.
Read my calendar for this week, Slack threads where I was mentioned since Friday, and my open tasks. Write a one-page brief: top 3 priorities, meetings that need prep, and replies I owe. Save /briefs/[date].md.
What lands in the folder: a weekly brief.
Where judgment comes in: what actually matters this week. A Callstand strategize call ranks the priorities against your quarter's goals.
22. 1:1 prep
Who and when: manager, scheduled the day before each 1:1.
What Cowork does: gathers the report's recent work, open items and last 1:1 notes.
For [name], collect their shipped work and open tasks since our last 1:1, plus notes from /1on1/[name]/. Draft an agenda with 3 topics, one piece of specific praise and one open question. Save /1on1/[name]/[date].md.
What lands in the folder: a 1:1 agenda.
Where judgment comes in: how to deliver hard feedback. A Callstand draft call from a coaching expert helps phrase it.
23. Meeting notes to action list
Who and when: meeting owner, on demand after meetings.
What Cowork does: turns notes or a transcript into decisions, owners and deadlines and posts them where your team works.
Read /meetings/[file]. List decisions, action items with owner and due date, and open questions. Save /meetings/[file]-actions.md and draft a Slack message for #team, but don't send it.
What lands in the folder: an action list and a draft message.
Where judgment comes in: what was actually decided versus discussed. A quick Callstand critique checks the list for vague owners and missing dates.
24. Hiring scorecard roundup
Who and when: hiring manager, on demand after interview loops.
What Cowork does: consolidates interviewer scorecards into one comparison.
Combine the scorecards in /hiring/[role]/[candidate]. Build a table of ratings by competency and interviewer, quote the strongest evidence for and against, and list disagreements to discuss in the debrief. Save /hiring/[role]/[candidate]-summary.md.
What lands in the folder: a debrief summary.
Where judgment comes in: the hiring bar. A Callstand critique call applies your rubric consistently across candidates.
25. Board or investor update first draft
Who and when: founder or exec, scheduled monthly.
What Cowork does: pulls metrics, wins, misses and asks from your reports into an update draft.
Using /metrics/[month].xlsx, /ops/report-*.md for the month and /wins.md, draft our monthly investor update in /templates/investor-update.md format: headline metrics, 3 wins, 2 challenges, asks. Save /updates/[month].md.
What lands in the folder: a first draft.
Where judgment comes in: narrative and what to disclose. A Callstand strategize call from an operator who has written dozens of these sharpens the story.
Claude Cowork tutorial: set up your first weekly workflow
Here's use case 4, the competitor page change digest, from start to finish.
- Create the working folder. Make a
/competitorsfolder with aurls.txtfile listing the pricing and feature pages you want to watch, one per line. - Open Cowork and point it at the folder. On desktop, Cowork works with local folders you grant it. On web and mobile, local file access works only while the Claude desktop app is open on your computer (Anthropic: Cowork on web, desktop and mobile).
- Connect what you need. For this task the built-in browser is enough. If you want the digest posted to Slack, add the Slack connector.
- Paste the task prompt from use case 4 and run it once in manual-approval mode so you can see each step.
- Save it as a skill. Once the output looks right, ask Claude to turn the instructions into a skill so every future run follows the same format.
- Schedule it. Type
/schedulein the task and choose weekly. Scheduled tasks run remotely, so they don't depend on your laptop being open (Anthropic: scheduled tasks). - Add a review step. Add a final line to the skill: run a Callstand
critiqueon the digest and append the expert's notes before saving.
Expect Cowork to use more of your usage limit than chat, because multi-step tasks take more compute. Anthropic suggests batching related work into a single session and keeping simple questions in regular chat.
Where Claude Cowork needs your team's judgment
Cowork is very good at the mechanics: reading the files, visiting the pages, building the table, saving the draft. What it can't infer is the standard your best people apply. Which competitor change is a threat. Which prospect isn't a fit. When a ticket theme should wake up the product team.
A skill can hold your instructions. It can't hold the judgment of someone who has made those calls hundreds of times. That's the gap a Callstand fills: an expert's standards, examples and critiques, connected to Claude through MCP so strategize, draft and critique are available inside the same task. Write your instructions once, as in the Brief-Once Workflow, and let the expert's review run on every output.
If you want an expert's judgment inside your Cowork workflows, you can set up a Callstand in a few minutes.
Frequently asked questions
What is Claude Cowork used for?
Claude Cowork is used for repeatable, multi-step knowledge work across your files and connected apps: weekly reports, research briefs, document cleanup, inbox and ticket summaries, and first drafts. It plans the steps, does the work and saves the finished files where you choose.
How do I schedule a recurring task in Claude Cowork?
Type /schedule in a task, then pick hourly, daily, weekdays, weekly or manual. Scheduled tasks run remotely, so your computer doesn't need to be on.
Is Claude Cowork available on Claude Team and Enterprise plans?
Yes. Cowork is available on the paid Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, not on free accounts. On Enterprise, some surfaces, such as web and mobile, depend on an admin enabling them. Check Anthropic's availability page for current details.
What is the difference between skills and plugins in Claude Cowork?
A skill is one set of saved instructions Claude loads for a specific task. A plugin is a bundle for a role or team that can include several skills plus connectors, slash commands and sub-agents. For more on skills, see what are agent skills.
Which apps can Claude Cowork connect to?
Cowork connects to apps through connectors, which include common tools like Slack, Google Drive and CRMs, plus any service with an MCP server. You can also build your own MCP server for internal tools.
How do I make Claude Cowork follow my team's standards?
Put your standards in a skill or a project so every task loads them, and keep them in one place rather than pasting them into each prompt. For judgment that's hard to write down, connect an expert's Callstand so tasks can call critique before saving.
Is Claude Cowork safe to use with company files?
Cowork only works in folders and apps you grant it, and you choose a permission mode: manual approval, automatic approval with safety checks, or skip approvals. Claude asks for explicit permission before permanently deleting files. Team and Enterprise admins control which modes and connectors are available.
How is Claude Cowork different from Claude Code?
Claude Code is built for software development in a codebase and terminal. Cowork brings the same agentic approach to everyday knowledge work in files, browsers and business apps. For a comparison with OpenAI's agent, see Cowork vs Codex.
